    KlirMoto is built for riders, by a rider. Your data is used only to make the app work better for you — it is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used for any purpose other than providing the KlirMoto service.
  

Who we are

KlirMoto ("we", "our", or "the app") is a motorcycle companion application for iOS developed and operated independently. Our primary contact is available at support@klirmoto.app.

What information we collect

KlirMoto collects only the information necessary to provide its features:

Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google to create and identify your account.
Vehicle data — information you enter about your vehicles: make, model, year, plate number, odometer readings, fuel logs, maintenance records, and customizations.
Ride data — GPS location, route, distance, duration, and speed data recorded during ride sessions you actively start.
Location data — your current location is used for weather information on the home screen and for ride tracking when you start a ride. Location is only accessed when the app is in use or when a ride is active.
Photos and media — photos you choose to attach to vehicles, rides, posts, or spots. These are stored securely and only accessible by you.
Usage data — basic app usage information (such as app version and device type) used to diagnose technical issues.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect solely to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the KlirMoto app and its features
Sync your data across your devices via secure cloud storage
Send you notifications you have explicitly enabled (maintenance reminders, weather alerts, riding streaks)
Display relevant weather and riding conditions based on your location
Identify and fix technical problems in the app

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with any third party except as described in this policy.

Third-party services

KlirMoto uses the following third-party services to operate:

Firebase (Google) — authentication, cloud database (Firestore), and file storage. Your data is stored in Firebase's secure servers. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Google Sign-In — used for account authentication. We receive only your name and email address from Google.
Open-Meteo — an open-source weather API used to display riding conditions. No personal data is sent to Open-Meteo — only your approximate location coordinates for weather lookup.
Apple WeatherKit — used for weather data on supported devices. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Google Gemini AI — used optionally for vehicle photo recognition (to auto-fill vehicle details from a photo). Photos sent for recognition are processed by Google's AI and are subject to Google's privacy policy. This feature is opt-in and only activated when you tap "Scan photo".

Data storage and security

Your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, and synced to Firebase's secure cloud infrastructure. Firebase uses industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Your photos and ride files are stored in Firebase Storage with access controls that prevent other users from accessing your data.

Location data

KlirMoto requests access to your location for two purposes: (1) to display weather conditions at your current location on the home screen, and (2) to record your GPS route when you actively start a ride. Location access is only used while the app is in use or while a ride is actively being recorded. We do not track your location in the background outside of active ride sessions.

Push notifications

KlirMoto may send push notifications for maintenance reminders, weather conditions, odometer milestones, and riding streaks. You can enable or disable each notification type individually in the app settings. You can also turn off all notifications through your iOS Settings at any time.

Your rights and choices

You have the right to:

Access your data — all data you have entered is visible and accessible within the app at all times.
Delete your data — you can delete individual vehicles, rides, photos, and records from within the app. To request full deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at support@klirmoto.app.
Revoke permissions — you can revoke location, camera, or photo library access at any time through iOS Settings → KlirMoto.
Sign out — signing out of the app removes your session from the device. Your cloud data is retained until you request deletion.

Children's privacy

KlirMoto is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires users to be at least 18 years old to create a profile (enforced during onboarding). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@klirmoto.app and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of KlirMoto after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
